Pecos 2017 Information Sheet This year we will once again be heading to Pecos National Historie Site to do living history interpretation for the National Parks Service over the weekend of March 24-26. One change this year involves how many participants we can take. We are limited to ten students. They will be chosen on a first come, first served basis. Here is what needs to happen for you to 60: 1. Get your paperwork filed out and returned to me, 2. Check in with your teachers to see what you will miss Friday 3. Pack your period as well as modern belongings. 4, Have $75-$100 dollars in your pocket on Friday ~ expenses are as follows 1. Gas money 2. Lunch on the road Friday 3. Dinner on the road Saturday night 4, Shared cost of motel room Saturday night (one for girls, one for guys) 5. Breakfast on the road Sunday morning ‘Once you are on the list, here are the details We will depart RMHS West Parking lot at 7:00am on Friday, March 24. We will arrive Pecos around 3:00pm on Friday. ‘We will hit the ground running for a busy weekend - see attached schedule We will depart Pecos Saturday, March 25 around 4:00pm. We will drive 3-4 hours and overnight at a motel. 6. We wil arrive back at Fort Collins around noon on Sunday, March 26. There will be two chaperones for the trip. Both will also serve as drivers. FOOD and OVERNIGHT LOGISTICS: 1. On Friday, all groups staying overnight will be here by 3:00. We'll have a quick run-through at this point of the event set up. This will happen at the encampment near Headquarters (same spot as last year). Eric will be leading this. At 4:00, all overnight participants that will be doing the kids activities will be meeting with Tyler in the activity tent to go over expectations. At 5:00, we'll have a mandatory safety meeting in the Pecos Room, There, all volunteers will go over logistics, phone numbers/contacts, expectations, and finalizing Volunteer Agreements with Eri. Group leaders (Kurt, Ken, Lorenzo) will each receive a Key Fob at this meeting; all groups will need to coordinate with their leader to ensure that they can leave and reenter the park safely. BBQ, as provided by the Friends Group, will take place in the Pecos Room at 6:00. Then, we rest and prepare for Saturday. On Saturday, burritos will be delivered to HQ by 8:00. Tea, Coffee, and Hot Chocolate will also be available that morning, Bring your own mugs, guys, 2s we won't have historic ones to spare. Lunch for camp participants will be set up in the interp office and kitchen by 12:00 during the lunchtime break. ‘Thank you very much for your cooperation and preparedness, we look forward to seeing you on friday
