I hope this letter finds you well. I am writing in hopes of obtaining financial support from the
Pamplin College of Business. After spending a few weeks in your marketing management
course, my passion for public relations and discovering the importance of brand identity has been
reignited. I was particularly intrigued by your promotion of the organization PRISM, Pamplin
Reinventing Social Media.
As a member of Virginia Techs chapter of the Public Relations Student Society of America
(PRSSA) within the Department of Communication, our organization similarly aims to expand
our social media presence and reach new audiences. PRSSA National will be hosting national
assembly from March 30 April 2, 2017 in Seattle, WA and included in the program are
workshops on how to be successful both online and in person as a leader.
VT PRSSA members would greatly benefit from attending. As attendees, they would develop the
personal and professional skills they need to kick start their careers. If you are interested in
learning more about the assembly, visit: http://prssa.prsa.org/events/Assembly/
We are in need of funds to cover the cost of attendance, which includes airfare, hotel and food.
Our suggested donations range from $5 - 50, but we are appreciative of any contribution. If you
would like to donate, we ask that you make a check out to Virginia Tech PRSSA with your
desired amount. Included in this letter is a donor envelope for your convenience.
Without the gracious donations we receive from departments like yours, VT PRSSAs
professional development endeavors would not be possible. Every donor will receive a special
acknowledgment in The Medium, PRSSAs semester newsletter. On behalf of PRSSA, I thank
you in advance for your time and support!
Sincerely,
Neeka Eghbali
