Belief Statement

I believe that the achievement gap still exists and I insist that we address the problem before it
worsens. The achievement gap is the division between people created from inequalities due to
factors such as; race, gender, socioeconomic status, etc.

Take 5 minutes to list all of the reasons that support your belief statement. Try to use reasons
that you gathered from your critical reading and primary research.

Unequal job opportunities

Many people are unaware of the achievement gaps existence
SAT scores being worse in less socioeconomically stable areas
Lack of social mobility due to unequal education
Lack of rigorous curriculum
Unequal access to resources
