RE: Brianna Smith
Dear Mr. DiStefano:
Itis my distinct pleasure to provide a recommendation for Brianna Smith—a smart, capable young woman with
much untapped potential. Mrs, Smith was a student in my English methods class, and was also under my
supervision as a student teacher. During this time, Brianna distinguished herself in many ways.
Mrs, Smith is a diligent student, a continuous leamer, and proficient in the skills of her subject—critical reading,
writing, and scholarly conversation. As a student in my English teaching methods class, Brianna proved to have a
strong presence and was successful in building strong relationships. Her work, which included extensive planning
for an English class, was exemplary. As a student, Brianna not only displayed her intelligence and work ethic, but
also acted professionally and with integrity.
‘What impressed me most, however, were the high marks that were given to Brianna by her cooperating teacher on
her final evaluations, as well as the field evalustors. The teachers who worked with Brianna commented on her
impressive classroom management and rapport with the students. When I observed het classes, I saw students
engaged in the lesson and classroom management that was evident through the clear expectations and daily
routines. The students were challenged to think critically, and through careful questioning, Brianna always
ensured that students had a deeper understanding of the work in front of them.
‘This type of preparation and herd work seem innate to her character and would, in my estimation, be a valuable
asset in any academic environment. In short, Mrs, Smith is a capable teacher who can readily adapt to new
situations, and, as such, I give my highest recommendation.
Sincerely,
[etchafl:
