Step 5. - Consider what the data is telling you.

For this final step, in a Word

document you will include a section on what you see from the data. Tell us what
you learned about your students' performance and your teaching.

How well is the class doing as a whole group? Provide two statements.

With a class average of 67.08%, the class is, on average, passing but not by enough for me,
as a teacher, to feel comfortable moving on to the next section without reviewing and getting
those grades up. The biggest area of trouble seems to be subtraction but we should also
review division to make sure everyone is understanding.

The class as a whole are struggling in every category of the test, particularly ......

Division

Which individuals are doing well and in what topics? Describe at least 3 students.

Juan is doing great across the board with perfect scores so I will be providing him with an
extension activity while we review with the students who need extra help. Codie also did
great and I don't think that he needs the extra practice either.

Holly did great with addition and average with subtraction but she still needs to review
division.

Hannah did great with subtraction but needs to review addition and division.

Who may need extra support and on what topics? Describe at least 3 students.

Molly and Nathan both need help in the area of subtraction. Patrick, Claire, and Luke could
also use some more practice. In division, Sarah needs the most extra help and instruction
but Luke Holly, Kiara, and Patrick could also use some extra support. In addition, everyone
did fairly well but out of everyone, Luke needs the most support in this area.
