Activity: Blindfold

Source: "Misc. Games." Fun-Attic Sports and Toys. N.p., n.d. Web. 16 Apr. 2017.

Equipment needed: Blindfold

Instructions:

1. Set up teams of two to three with at least one person in each group being the person
blindfolded.

2. Once the person who will be blindfolded in each team is ready, a person from their own team
will throw the ball into the designated play area.

3. The rest of the team then directs the person who is blindfolded to retrieve the ball.

4. Once retrieved, they must bring back the ball to their team without being tagged by the other
persons blindfolded or else the opposing team gains a point. 3 points gained if the ball is brought
back without being tagged.

Leadership considerations: To provide inclusion to those with spinal injuries like a person that is
a quadriplegic, an adjust of a smaller given play space may be suggested in order for the
individual to not travel a big distance in search of the ball and to reduce the risk of running into
other team mates. Another adjustment for these individuals could be, the person that is
blindfolded have a long stick with a bag at the end as if to scoop the ball. The team mates still
instruct the blindfolded person regularly but this way the person with the quadriplegic disability
does not need to mobilize them self as much and have an alternative to cover more ground.

For those individuals who can not hear, an added action of tapping on the shoulders (left or right)
by a team mate that is not blindfolded may helped the individual that is blindfolded and deaf.
There by still providing assistance and guidance toward the given task of retrieving the ball. A
person with a hearing disability still has the ability to par take in the activity just like someone
who does not.
