When I was creating my infographic, I used Piktochart. I chose this site because I was

told by a fellow classmate that this was the most user-friendly site to use. I picked out a template

and messed around with the site to get a feel for it and then started to think of graphs/charts that I

could create relating to my topic.

My topic is technology so I brainstormed, looked at all my research, and decided Im

going to do a survey about the percent of the population in different countries that use their

smartphone. I found in this research that the US isnt the number one rank on this list and they

fall at number four. My second survey was based upon the average time a person checks their

social media. Another shocking fact that I found is that the US lands at number five which is 17.

Malaysia, Qatar, Mexico, and South Africa are all ahead. I am not sure if this is a reliable source

or not but I know that the first graph I did is and the US is not first so I think I can base it from

that. The third graph I did was a line graph and it showed the evolution of the Apple iPhone. It

depicts what year each iPhone was released and this graph shows it has a mutual relationship.

This graph is most related to my research because in my inquiry project I have a section named

History. This connects the most because most of my research involves smartphones and how

much we depend on them.

When creating the graphs, I didnt want to put too much text because I think that defeats

the purpose of the graphs. I labeled each graph with a title instead and included graphics to show
what correlates with which. For example, the first graph I used the countrys flag and put it

below each statistic I presented.

Critical reading is an important process while taking in research to record in your

infographic. If you dont choose credible sources than your data isnt accurate and then your

graphs and charts are wrong. Another important Student Learning Outcome (SLO) is composing

processes. I had to think a lot before creating my infographic. At first, I thought I couldnt do an

infographic because I didnt believe that I could find any data that relates to my project, but after

going back through my sources and finding new sources I found credible information. This

required a lot of thinking and what data I wanted to use on my infographic that relates to my

project.
