positionopeningthroughadistrictwideemailandthinkmyexperienceasanEducational
AssistantatTaosMiddleSchoolmakesmeaqualifiedapplicant.

IspentasemesterstudentteachinginMs.AmandaMartinezsseventhgradescienceclass.Iwas
abletoapplywhatIlearnedinmycollegecoursesaboutcontentknowledge,pedagogy,and
classroommanagement.Idevelopedcurriculatoteachaboutanimalandplantcellsthatincluded
technologicalapplications,handsonexperiments,evaluationofscientificwriting,andpractice
writingacademicreports.Theselessonshelpedthestudentslearnaboutthetopicandgainskills
applicableinotherareasoftheirschoolingandlife.

Iamaflexibleteamplayerwhocanworkinavarietyofsituationswhichwouldaidthescience
department.AtmypreviouspositionatTaosMiddleSchool,Iworkedinseveraldifferent
classrooms,eachwiththeirownsetofrulesandprotocols.Iadaptmyownstyletomost
effectivelyworkwiththeheadteacherandassistthestudents.Additionally,eachstudenthas
differentneeds,soIaltermystyletobestsupporttheindividualstudents.Attimes,Iamaskedto
workinanewclassandmydailyschedulechanges.Iquicklyadjusttothechangestomeetthe
presentneedsoftheschoolandensurethestudentshavetheassistancetheyneed.

IwouldmakeagreatadditiontotheTaosMiddleSchoolScienceDepartmentbecauseofmy
experienceattheschoolandabilitytoadapttoanysituationtoassiststudents.Iameagertohelp
studentsgainknowledgeandgrowasindividuals.Throughthis,Iamabletohelpmeetthe
districtmissionofpreparingallstudentstosucceed.
