Duracretes Polypropylene fibres inhibit shrinkage and settlement cracking in both plastic and hardened stages of concrete while delivering greater impact capacity, abrasion and shatter resistance with lower water migration. By introducing millions of fibers into the mix, Duracrete fibres give concrete a multi-dimensional secondary reinforcement that enhances concrete performance. Major Benefits + Inhibits plastic settlement cracking + Controls plastic shrinkage cracking ‘+ Lowers water migration in conerste * Resists impact and shatter forces * Increases abrasion resistance + Increases freeze/thaw durability * Provides lasting reinforcement * Provides significant improvement in fire protection Features * Excellent dispersion providing three-dimensional reinforcement © Improves concrete cohesiveness - requires no mix design changes ‘© Easily mixes into concrete - does not ball or tangle © Non-corrosive, non-toxie, rust-proof, inert material Improving Concrete Performance Inhibits plastic settlement cracking Duracrete cracking. Fibres distribute evenly in the concrete mix and inhibit segregation and settlement of the heavier concrete ingredients. As the heavier ingredients do not drift downward, the mix water is not displaced. The uniform bleeding throughout the concrete gives it the optimum longterm integrity. res in concrete create an advanced internal support system that inhibits plastic settlement Controls plastic shrinkage cracking ‘The uniform distribution of Duracrete fibres increases the tensile strain capacity of concrete when itis in its most vulnerable early ‘plastic’ stage. As the concrete harens and shrinks, the formation of plastic shrinkage cracks is discouraged. The onset of weakened planes that develop into these cracks is minimized. Lowers water migration in concrete Plastic cracks, which develop during the early stages of concrete hydration, allow water to pass. As Duracrete fibres reduce this micro-crack formation, it enables the concrete to progress from plastic to hardened state with greater integrity. Thus the water resistance of hardened concrete is greatly increased. Resists impact and shatter forces {As the millions of Duracrete fibres distributed uniformly throughout concrete are equally elastic in all directions, impact and shatter forces are easily resisted. The fibres help absorb the shock of the force, as, well as givinga concrete maximum integrity to withstand the force. Improves abrasion resistance The decrease in plastic shrinkage and settlement minimizes concrete surface weakness and defects and thus improves abrasion resistance. Increases freezelthaw dural Duracrete fibres reduce water migration, giving concrete greater longevity in freeze/thaw environments, Provides lasting reinforcement Duracrete fibres are made from 400% homopolymer polypropylene, a tough, durable synthetic resin that ‘can withstand the harsh environments inside concrete. Duracrete fibres are nonmagnetic and. non-corrosive, as well as chemically inert. Because they are unaffected by the alkaline environment of concrete, and stabilized against long-term heat exposure, Duracrete fibres do not degrade and provide lasting reinforcement. Significant improvement in fire protection Duracrete reinforced concrete provides better protection to structures against exposure to fire. Always joint and cure your concrete properly as per ACI practice. 2. FRC will appear to be slightly stiffer than plain concrete, because fibre acts as a cohesive agent and bind the mix together. The workability remains - do not add excess water. 3. Fibres do not float to the surface once they are distributed in the concrete. Fibres may appear on or near surface simply because they are three dimensionally distributed 4. FRC slab will bleed less and slower than mesh reinforced slab. Do not get on the slab too early for finishing, 5. Donot use rake to move FRC. Use shovel with straight edge 6. For broom or textures finish, broom in only one direction. 7. Fibre that may appear on the surface will wear off quickly under light traffic. 8. Use steel or magnesium trowels and floats. Wood trowels and tools are more abrasive to surface and may reveal more fibre. 9. For smooth hard trowel finishes, the normal practice of using the machine trowel first to bring up sufficient mortar to achieve a closed durable surface is also applicable with fibres. 10. Sereed faces show some fibres sticking out. If this is unacceptable, it can be remedied by flaming off the fibre ends. See our brochure or contact us for more information. Used in ancient masonry structure by Greeks& Romans (600 BC) BENEFITS AND ADVANTAGES OF THE NATURAL POZZOLAN, 1L._Lithification: The compressive strength as well as the flexural strength will continue to increase for a long time, 2. Autogenous Healing: its inherent ability to actually heal or re-cement cracks within the ‘concrete by means of the continuation of pozzalanic reaction with the calcium hydroxide freed from the cement hydration reaction, 3, Reduced Permeability and Voids: Natural pozzotan can increase the workat thereby reducing water cement ratio as excess water creates voids in concrete ty of concrete 4, Reduces Expansion and Heat of Hydration: Replacing 30% Portland cement with Natural pozzolan can reduce the expansion and heat of hydration to as low as 40% of normal. 5, Reduces Creep and Cracks: Natural pozzolan moderates the expansion and shrinkage of conerete. 6. Reduces Microcracking:Microcracks significantly contribute to concrete permeability as welll as other concrete defects, caused by expansion and shrinkage of concrete. The Natural pozzolan- Portland cement mixture expands these shrinks so moderately that there is no microcracking, inside the CS-H paste after drying, 7. Increases Compressive Strength:Pozzolanic reaction between natural pozzolan and calcium hydroxide happens after the C35 and C25 in the cement begins to hydrate. The pozzolanic reaction continues until there is no free calcium hydroxide available in the mass and the compressive strength exceeds the reference OPC by 30-40%, 8, Increases Resistance to chloride Attack: Concrete deterioration caused by the penetration of chloride occurs quickly when chloride ions react with calcium. Natural pozzolan added into cement can react with almost all the free calcium hydroxide and form @ much denser past. All these reactions result in the expansion and disruption of concrete. Reduces alkall-aggregate reaction: Because Natural pozzolan is shattered into such a fine particle size resulting in dramatically increased reactive surface area, it can react quickly with calcium hydroxide and can trap the alkali inside the cement paste. Thus, ithelps to form a denser paste with almost no alkali aggregate reaction at all Protects steel reinforcement from corrosion: Creates densely packed concrete environment that no liquids or gases can penetrate through it to cause corrosion to the steel Increases abrasion resistance: Natural pozzolan increases the compressive strength of concrete and makes the concrete matrix stronger and dense that helps the concrete to durably resist abrasion, Lowers water requirement with high workability, self-leveling, and compression: Natural Pozzolan minimizes or eliminatessegregation, internal bleeding giving bonding failures, and inhomogeneous cement paste and air-void systems problems due to the amorphous structure of the pozzolan particles. Improves Durability:enefits and characteristics of Natural Pozzolan mentioned above clearly explain why the ancient structures built by the Greeks have survived over 2000 years of weathering Mattox Company F37)R, Bloce4, Citon, Karaci75600, Pakistan Tel (9221) 563-3127 to 29, 593-5205, Fac: (8221) 583-3124 Eta matiraco@ryaooom
