THE PROFESSIONAL ARTISTS GUIDE TO CALLS FOR ART, Juried SHOWS, PUBLIC ART COMMISSIONS, GRANTS AND MORE
IN THIS ISSUE
Instructions
The free version of AOM is for artists early in their careers or who have limited time for production
or promotion or who have extremely limited budgets. Subscribers to the professional version get
not only all the opps in here but an additional 230-260 or more each month or about 2,500 more
per year. And they get them a full month earlier, along with more contact information. Pro
subscribers also can have their work in the AOM Gallery, in AOM itself, even on the cover, and have
their site linked. They also receive a bonus list of about 300 open deadline opps when they
subscribe or renew. And they get complete immediate and free personal support for any question
or problem.
These opportunities have been selected from several hundred as most appropriate for fine
artists, traditional or contemporary. We favor things that are free or low cost to enter, offer
good rewards in relation to the fees, increase the exposure of those accepted, or are
prestigious or special in some other way.
We do not knowingly include outright scams, for-profit galleries that charge fees to
enter, individuals pretending to be galleries or contests that exist only to take money
away from artists.
If something is not marked International, or has some other geographic label, it is
for US residents only.
These are capsulized versions. When you see something that might be of interest, go
to the prospectus (click the link beginning with http://xrl.us/AOM or
http://tinyurl.com/AOM ), send an email (click the email address) or #10 SASE for
the prospectus or more info. In the list below, Open, as of . . . or Current, as of
means the opp was open as of that date but could close when full or withdrawn.
Searching: To find all entries containing a specific term such as grant, a zip code or
a medium (PA for painting, for instance), use Adobe Reader's extended search
(Shift+Control+F for PCs or Shift + Apple + F for Macs).
New users: please read instructions at
www.ArtOpportunitiesMonthly.com/PDF_instructions.html
FAQ: www.ArtOpportunitiesMonthly.com/faqs.html
Art Opportunities Monthly (AOM), published monthly except August, is available by email as a .PDF
($30/yr). It allows you to search for phrases such as PA for painting, or SC for sculpture or "grant" for grants..
You can also cut and paste to make your own list.. And you can simply click on the email addresses to send
inquiries right to the sources or click on the URLs to go straight to the web sites.
The listings are in capsule form, arranged by media and deadline, so that you can tell at a glance if something
might be suitable for you.

Calls by Media
All Media + 2D and 3D
Calls in this section accept all or nearly all media, at least in theory. If yours is unusual, such as fire or nanotechnology,
it's best to send a query first. 2D means the call is limited to flat workpainting, drawing, photography, collage and the like. It
usually does not include video, film or new media. 3D means objects that exist in the round, such as sculpture, but usually
does not include installation or performance.
An x in front of a Media: code or string of Media: codes means the call excludes those. For example, All xFI means all Media:
except film. All x(VI CU PE) means all Media: except video, computer and performance.
