Philosophy of Education

My philosophy of education is that every child has the right to learn and it is my

responsibility to teach them. Because of this, it is my job to learn the cultural backgrounds,

strengths, weaknesses and needs of all my students. Having an understanding of who they are

and what their needs are will allow me to develop my instruction around that. By doing this, I am

ensuring that I am doing my best to promote authentic learning in my classroom. Cultural

diversity, safe learning environments, rigorous and flexible teaching, and connections to students

are all essential for me as a classroom teacher. I have the ability to show students how important

their education is not only in the moment, but also how their education will ultimately allow

them to dictate their own futures and empower them to be individuals. Differentiation of

instruction, including customization, personalization, modification and acceleration of

curriculum is necessary for me to include to ensure that all students are receiving the type of

education that they deserve.
