Consultancy Service
The Ethiopian Evangelical Church Mekane Yesus - Development and
Social Services Commission (EECMY-DASSC) is non - profit organization
that renders development and social services for the communities.

EECMY-DASSC plans to conduct an institutional gender audit and


an assessment of the experience on female genital mutilation (FGM)
intervention both at Central and selected Church Units DASSC projects
and programmes.

The purpose of the Gender Audit assessment is intended to propose strategic


direction and programming priorities to implement gender issues in EECMY-
DASSC programmes during the next strategic plan period 2012-2016.

Required Qualification
The consultant should have MA in Development Studies, Sociology,
Gender and Development, Anthropology; and 5 years of consultancy
experience specifically dealing with gender policy.

Interested applicants are invited to submit their application with non-


returnable CV, technical and financial proposal including supporting
documents including his/her legal registration and license in consultancy
service, and three references. He/she can submit the application within
five working days of this announcement at the following address, EECMY-

Improving Quality of Primary Education Program

INVITATION FOR CONSULTANCY
The Family Health International is a contractor of the United States Agency for International Development (USAID) implementing for Improving Quality of Primary Education Program (USAID/IQPEP) in Ethiopia. The Program
implements activities focusing on Primary Schools, Teacher Education Institutions, Regional and Woreda Education Bureaus in collaboration with the Ministry of Education, the Regional State and City Administration Education
Bureaus and Teacher Education Institutions to improve the quality of education.

Background: The National Agency for Examination (NAE) with financial and technical assistance from USAID has long experience of conducting National Assessment and producing reports. National Learning Assessment in
Ethiopia is a large scale educational study carried out periodically with the purpose of determining the achievement levels of students and identifying the possible factors that affect their achievement. Since 2000 three National
Learning Assessments were carried out and the data collection of the Ethiopian Fourth National Learning Assessment (EFNLA) of Grades 4 and 8 students was conducted in May 2011 across the nation and the data capturing
processes is finalized.

Purpose: The Consultant is responsible to analyze the latest available data of the Ethiopian Fourth National Learning Assessment by way of comparing the achievements of IQPEP vs non-IQPEP primary schools. The consultant has
also a responsibility to write up the report and the process of editing the report by way of producing revised and final version of the comparison assessment report. The scope of the consultancy service involves analyzing and writing
a report on the comparison of the IQPEP vs non-IQPEP school achievements for 15 working days.

The task requires the ability to analyze large scale educational data from conceptualization through presentation of the data within limited period of time. In line with this IQPEP would like to recruit an experienced statistician or
data analyst or psychometrician to carry out data analysis, writing the report of the analysis, and editing the whole report under supervision and guidance of the MERA component of the IQPEP.

Norwegian Peoples Aid (NPA) was founded in 1939 as the labour movements humanitarian solidarity
organisation, and is currently working in more than 30 countries including Ethiopia. NPAs vision is Solidarity
in Practice. NPA aims to improve peoples living conditions and to create an equitable society through
practical supportive work.
NPA has established presence in Ethiopia since 2006 and is currently working with 8 Ethiopian resident
charity organisations in two main focus areas namely: Land and Resource Management and Violence
Against Women. Currently NPA has completed its first phase four years operation period and is now moving
towards to the second phase.

NPA would like to invite new active organisations sharing the same values and principles in the area of Land
and Resource Management and Violence Against Women.

4 Applicants can submit their concept document to target any of these themes:
Land and Resource Management: to increase local community access and control over land and natural
