Excuse me, sorry to interrupt but I have to say that the government has already provided the

solution for this problem since long time ago. For example, the Skim Latihan 1Malaysia that
launched on 2011. Maybe some of them are not aware about this programme due to the lack
of promotion from the medias. Actually, the aim of this programme to help young graduates
who are still unemployed to enhance their marketability with appropriate skills, knowledge
and working experience throughout the training process in order to secure their job in the
future. Trainee will undergo Soft-Skills and On-The-Job Training with participating company
to sharpen his confident level while exposure in real working industries environment.
Another point that I want to add is the Minister Of Higher Education, Datuk Seri Idris Jusoh
has already roll out the Integrated Cumulative Grade Point Average (iCGPA) system which is
to assess the overall performance of university students and not just their academic
achievement. Malaysia is the first country to implement this system in order to produce more
holistic graduates. Under the system, students will graduate with a complete report card that
details not just their performance in tests but also the skills and other knowledge which is
include the leadership, communication, entrepreneurship, social and critical thinking skills.
Although I would like to point out that the government should provide financial incentives to
companies so that they would increase placements for local instead of foreign workers. For
your information, most of the employers would prefer to hire foreign workers because they
require lower salaries than local graduates. It is rather difficult to decrease the unemployment
rate and it takes a lot of time. Therefore, we shouldnt be looking to just provide jobs for
youths, but to teach them to be prepared for jobs. Does anyone have anything else to say
regarding this matter?
