Amelia Scanland, trumpeter, has performed with many diverse ensembles.

In

2013, she was Principal Trumpet of the New World Youth Symphony Orchestra and 4th

Trumpet with the Honor Orchestra of America. In 2014, she performed as 2nd Trumpet

with the Honor Orchestra of America and was a member of the U.S. Army All-American

Marching Band in San Antonio, TX. While in high school Amelia lived in Avon, IN,

where she participated in the marching band and wind symphony, receiving a National

title (2010) and 4-State Championships (2010, 2012, 2013, 2014). She was also a

featured soloist in the Avon Brass Choir (2014).

Amelia is currently a student of Dr. Brittany Hendricks at Ball State University,

and is the Principal Trumpet of the Ball State Symphony Orchestra, a member of the

Muncie Symphony Orchestra Outreach Brass Quintet, a Presidential Scholar in the Arts

recipient, and was a member of the 2015-2016 BSU Fanfare Trumpet Ensemble, which

performed at the International Trumpet Guild Conference in May, 2016.
