Dear Families,

My name is Tabitha DeVoss and I will be Mr. Bartletts student teacher for this spring
semester. I am currently completing my last semester at Northern State University and
will graduate with a degree in History Education. I am so pleased to be completing my
student teaching experience at the Sisseton High School! I love small town
communities, and hope to pursue my teaching career in such an environment.
I have been passionate about education and young people since I was in high school. I
have always enjoyed the idea of positively influencing and molding future citizens. My
hometown is Aberdeen, but Ive always had an interest for the smaller surrounding
towns. Each one has its own interesting history, and always at least one great restaurant.
This is a fact that definitely stands true in Sisseton, and I look forward to becoming part
of this community.
I am so enthusiastic to meet and get to know the students! Im sure I will be learning
just as much from them as they will from me. During my short time with them, I hope to
build strong relationships and make a positive impact on their education. My number
one goal is to teach in a fun and purposeful manner, while always modeling respect.
I will be observing Mr. Bartlett and eventually teaching lessons of my own as the months
go by, absorbing and executing the best teaching practices for the young adults in his
