Rhetorical Rationale

For Genre 1, I completely changed my idea from the beginning. From a

cheesy high school poster board approach, I turned towards something unique. I
chose to use a Vibedration hydration pack the festival-goers use to fill with water.
Inside I put the stories, relating to pathos, of the two that died at Sunset Music
Festival 2016. The idea of this is to motivate my audience in a way to think about
whether it is worth it to take drugs at a festival. The audience is mainly people who
are interested or participate in the EDM scene. On another pocket, I placed all of the
commonly used drugs (fake) that are used in the EDM scene. As the two died at
SMF, I put a flyer for this years SMF in there for the audience to think twice again. I
think putting the stories together, and seeing the drugs/notes inside will make them
understand the severity. For Genre 3, the Instagram page presenting the positive
and negative sides of EDM are for a couple of the same reasons. Those involved in
the EDM scene would be the followers of this page. The comments on the pictures
are to influence this scene in a better way as I am going against the drug parts
saying it is a bag thing. With the mixture of good and bad relations keeps things
going. I chose to minimally comment on the bad things because I would not want to
bore any users (if they really do not care) and have them lose interest in the page. I
kept things alive and colorful to make the page seem fun. By seeing this page, it
might help to spread awareness about the bad things EDM can cause and the great
things it can bring as well.
