Plate reader electronics malfunctioning

APPEARANCE:
Extraneous lines/ patterns on image
Appears on multiple images

Ghosting

CAUSE(S):

* Incomplete Erasure
* Incorrect erasure settings

APPEARANCE:
Images are foggy, may include secondary images due to
incomplete erasure

Moire Effect

CAUSE(S):
* Short exposure time

* Too rapid of sequence of exposure
*Grid error

APPEARANCE:
Interference of patterns, grid lines

Histogram

CAUSE(S):
If software cannot find borders, all image data included
Histogram applied to all image data, not just VOI

When rescaled, software cannot properly adjust image to
reference histogram
LUT cannot properly apply contrast
Image may look dark or light, have little contrast latitude
Cannot window/level image

Due to backscatter transmitted through cracks in the plate
