As the 4K-12 Principal for the Greenwood Schoo! District, | have had the pleasure of hiring, working closely with and interacting with her for the past year. Tara teaches seventh and eighth grade language arts and social studies. Tara came into a good situation; she had a veteran teacher she could work with to help get her started in her curriculum. Once she was able to get her feet firmly on the ground, Tara flourished into a strong young teacher. She worked hard to make her lessons her own, using the current curriculum materials, so she could establish a solid working repertoire with her students, Her start to teaching was not the typical way you expect to begin your career. Tara was called to filla position on the first day of in-service for the entire district. We had a middle school teacher leave unexpectedly and were able to convince Tara to come join us. Tara was a blessing for our district. She hit the ground running and began to learn her materials so she could reach her students through her style of teaching Tara challenges students to be the best student they can be. Her lesson plans are organized and she uses a variety of techniques to reach all of her students. Her materials are challenging and require students to use all of their skills to complete. She is willing to help students and wants to make sure that all of the stuclents understand the lessons. Mis. Busse has very good classroom management skills. Her friendly demeanor and caring personality help her to build trust with each of her students. Because she does not have any discipline issues in her classroom, her students are very productive. She is a perfect fit for the middle schoo! because of her ability to connect with students of this age and it shows in her relationships with her students.
