She demonstrates a strong commitment to teaching, shows, leadership in and out of the classeoom, possesses great communication skills, and has a great rapport with students and colleagues. I feel very fortunate to have Miss Schilling teaching in my language arts, classroom. She is a natural teacher. ‘Tara is very dedicated to the teaching profession. She spends numerous hours creating lessons that appeal to middle school students’ physical, social, and emotional needs. They are excited to come to class to see what Ms, Schilling is going to teach them, and they see relevance in their learning She integrates technology into all lessons and is able to troubleshoot when things do not go as planned. Her flexibility is remarkable. Miss Schilling has excellent communication skills. She has high expectations for her students and expresses them in a clear and concise manner. Her lessons are very effective and well-paced to meet the needs ofall learners inthe classroom, Abbotsford has a large Hispanic population, so in her planning she is very cognizant of the accommodations she needs to make to ensure they comprehend the lesson and are successfl in the classroom, Miss Schilling has planned a sixth grade poetry and play acting unit and also-a seventh grade research unit, She has taught vocabulary and daily oral language for both grades, and taught the seventh grade how to make book trailers using the program Animoto. Her willingness to learn was evident in this process. ‘This isthe first student teacher I have ever had that has gained students’ respect from the moment she walked into my classroom. She is professional, confident, and prepared, three qualities every successful teacher needs to possess. Tara has a good balance in the classroom. She is respected yet approachable. ‘Students feel safe inthe environment she has provided to ask questions and participate in discussions. She knows how important it is to connect with the students she is teaching, She is coaching middle and high school track so that connection beyond the school day has helped her gain respect from her students. Miss Schilling has made a very positive impression on administration, staff, parents, and students in the ‘Abbotsford School District.
