ABSTRACT

The oil that is produced and delivered to the shelter (GS Kota Batak) in
the Batak City area brings the participating bacteria also produced from the wells,
if this is left to have adverse impact on the environment and equipment, to
overcome this chemical used Biocide injected into Flow line in order to inhibit
and kill the development of these bacteria.
Biocide serves to kill bacteria that can cause H2S gas present in the
water that is produced from the well. There are two types of Biocides that are
often used, namely: Oxidising and Non-Oxidising Biocide. Injection of Biocide to
inlet on line in GS Batak city is using two method that is Continuous method and
Batching method, depending on which method will be used and more profitable.
In GS the Batak type of Biocide injection used is by using the Batching
method to inject into the inlet before it flows into the wash tank, where the
batching method has the advantage of the continuous method: (less use of Biocide
and shorter injection time used and Efficient based on trials in GS Batak city are
as follows: Continuous injected biocide of 3 gallons / day = 90 gallon / month =
180 gallons for 1 month with detection rate of bacterial progression produced by +
+ (10 ^ 2), Whereas the batching injection method used 47 gallons of biocide
monitored for 1 month with bacterial levels of ++ (10 ^ 2).
