qualitiesthatIplantoutilizeinmyeverydaypractice.

Firstandforemost,Ibelievethatnursesmusthavetheabilitytoempathizewiththeir

patientstotrulycare.Thenursingprofessionrequirestheseprofessionalstoopentheirminds

andspirittorelateto,support,andhelptohealtheirpatients.Judgement,ridicule,and

persecutionhavenoplaceofbelonginginthenursingprofession.Whenahealthprofessional

canopenthemselvestotheideasanduniquesituationofothers,anddotheirbesttounderstand,

onlythendohavetheirpatientshighestregardsinmind.

Secondly,asoundsetofbothethicalandmoralstandardsareessentialtoanyprofession

whoparticipateintheprovisionofhealthcare.Historyhasproventhatthemistakesoffewcan

impactthequantityoftrustandrespectinvestedinhealthcareforgenerationstocome,resulting

intheexacerbationofhealthdisparities.Ibelievethattheethicalprinciplesofjustice,fidelity,

beneficence,nonmaleficence,autonomy,andrespectshouldguidenursingpractice.Havinga

structureddelineationbetweenwhatisrightandwrongisanotherqualityforanursetoachieve

theirhighestefficacy.Seeingasnursesaretheadvocatesforthepatients,understandingand

vocalizingwhenethicsortheuniversalmoralcodeisbeingviolatediscritical.
