CROSSING PARK on Wednesday July 28, from 10am to 5pm.
Come tour the 90-foot canal schooner Lois McClure while it’s
docked at Hudson Crossing Park, located on Champlain Canal
Lock 5 Island, off of Route 4 just north of Schuylerville. The
schooner Lois McClure is a full-scale replica of an 1862 sailing
canal boat. These unique vessels were designed to sail from lake
cities to canal ports using wind power and then to lower their
masts and sails when traveling along canals. The schooner staff
will share stories about the boat and its role in New York State
history. It’s an exciting way to experience the continuum of history
that the Hudson River and Champlain Canal holds. To learn more

Hofmann, of Albany, has exhibited regionally and in New York
City. His paintings are in several private collections, including the
Albany Institute of History and Art, the Boston Public Library,
the Plattsburgh Art Museum and the Virginia Museum of Fine
Arts. He taught art at Hunter College in New York City for many
years. David Brickman of the blog Get Visual said, “Hofmann is
one of those under recognized local treasures who quietly goes
about his business while we obliviously do the same - the difference
being that his business involves making world-class paintings.
After a long career in education, Hofmann retired a few years ago
and now, in his 70s and able to devote his time fully to painting,
has hit his stride.”

Center, 19 Third Street, is having a trip to see the “Dixieland
Band” Lobster Fest at Chez Josef in Agawam, MA on Tuesday,
August 3, 2010. Upon arrival enjoy Sweet Confections & Coffee

Wagar Senior Center is looking for volunteer drivers to bring seniors
into the center on Mondays. If you would like to volunteer one
