Introduction (pathos):

Without the needed attention for the rise of childhood obesity in the 21st century, many

children will be at traumatic risk of cardiovascular issues and very low life expectancies. Without

parental influences, school education, and motivation, how are children supposed to live a

healthy, happy lifestyle? Children deserve the needed education and motivation of physical

awareness and health.

2nd Paragraph:

A key ingredient to the success of preventing childhood obesity starts with parental

influences. Children who are put into sports and physical programs by their parents are more

likely to a healthy lifestyle, and less likely to developed obesity. In fact, the prevalence of

childhood overweight has grown, feasible, effective, and cost-efficient programs are needed to

help overweight children control their weight (Weintraub, L., et al., 2008, n.a.). If such

programs arent presented by parents then how is a child suppose to financial support themselves

in such organizations?

Paragraph 3:

Despite the need for sports programs and such physical awareness organizations to

prevent childhood obesity, some may rise awareness that such statistics do not support the claim.

For example, Although children involved in team sports tend to be more physically fit than their

uninvolved peers and have greater involvement in physical activity across time, team sports have

not yet been tested as an approach to involve overweight children in regular physical activity or

to reduce weight gain (Weintraub, L., et al., 2008, n.a.). However, sports is a huge participation
in physical activity in which research goes to show that Research on youth physical activity

participation supports perceived competence and skill level as strong influences on participation

(Weintraub, L., et al., 2008, n.a.). Therefore, sports should not be seen as an outlier for parents to

use as a positive growth towards a healthy lifestyle for their child.
