Research Proposal
In a world of immense innovation in technology, computing has evolved in
many ways. New models of computing and handling information have been
developed that were not possible before this time of great advancement. One such
model is cloud computation, which is focused around network interaction and
moving away from accessing data on physical hard drives. A model that is based
around the internet like this has several advantages as well as disadvantages. This
paper will be looking in depth into these advantages and disadvantages to
determine whether cloud computing solutions are more effective and advantageous
than on-premises infrastructural solutions. This research will be innovative because
companies and professionals alike, cloud computing seems like a cool new
technology setup that should be used. However, if I were to find that is an
ineffective model, that could perhaps benefit companies all around the world. It is
interesting because, when moved to the cloud, some aspects of a computing
infrastructure change. My search strategy is to research the topic of cloud
computing briefly to get a solid foundation of it, then I will look at sources providing
advantages and disadvantages. Finally, I will consider the trends in the industry,
what other types of solutions have been found and if the consensus of technology
professionals
