Centripetal Force Pendulum - ME-9821

Overview

The Centripetal Force Pendulum attaches to a Force Sensor and allows students to directly
measure the forces involved in circular motion. By attaching the Force Sensor/Pendulum
combination to the Rotary Motion Sensor, the relationship between force, mass and velocity
in a circular path can be investigated.

Includes
Graphite Pendulum rod with threaded connector
Sliding mass (100g)
Mount with cord clip

How It Works

A sliding mass is used to easily change the effective length of the pendulum, which
corresponds to the radius of the circular motion. In addition, drilled masses (not included)
can be placed above the sliding mass to change the mass of the pendulum. The cord clip is
used to keep the Force Sensor cord from interfering with the motion of the pendulum.

The cord clip is used to keep the Force Sensor cord from interfering with the motion of the
pendulum.
