I am applying for the position of Program Aide for the 2017 Summer Camp at the Boys and Girls
Club here in Merced County. Taking into consideration my past three summers volunteering for
the summer camp, I believe that I have retained a great amount of experience that allows me to
be an excellent fit for this position.

Because of my previous history and involvement within this organization, I have grown very
familiar with the staff, the environment, and the kids at camp. In the past two years of camp I had
been assigned to help the staff who led the group of first and second graders, and this has
allowed me to understand how to work with the youngest age group, and I have obtained the
skills required to be a leader here in this institution.

I strive to be a person who contributes to the overall picture and who makes a difference in the
lives of others. Being a returning member of your volunteer staff has allowed me to experience
first hand the differences that we truly make in the lives of these children by allowing them a
safe place to learn and have fun, while also teaching them the different aspects of Character
Counts, which are accentuated in our younger years of education.
