The importance of chemistry in biology

In this paper I will be going over the importance of chemistry in biology

specifically how it can be used to help cure and recognize diseases and

problems in the body. The more I learn about biology and chemistry the more

I realize that you cant understand biology fully without understanding

chemistry. In fact all vaccines are, are different chemicals enhanced or

rearranged in a specific way to create a chemical formula that can work with

or destroy the virus or disease.

An example of chemistry being used for medicine out in the world is a

study done by researchers at Tel aviv University. They used chemical light,

which is usually used to create glow sticks and created a new mechanism by

tweaking the chemistry of the glow stick to instead of just glowing always.

They modified it to glow when around cancer proteins to identify cancer

cells. They were only able to do this with chemistry and knowing how the

atoms and chemical formula works.

 Reflection

There are situations like this everywhere, I was never to interested in

chemistry because it was always so hard but by taking this class it has

helped me to realize that chemistry is in everything including biology.
