Reflection #1

When I first began at Los Angeles Leadership Academy it was the first time I heard the

word, leadership in a way that everyone can obtain and use. Through middle and high school

this word has been carried all the way through for us to take advantage of leading our

community. As a scholar Leadership Academy has taught me many academic terms throughout

my journey. This school somehow has a community that other schools lack, as I walk from

hallway to hallway I know everyone and everyone is passively friendly. Having a positive

attitude helps along with our community to show that anyone in our school should have a good

time and feel welcome.

I think all the students have participated no matter how little the task was. In Cesar

Chavez day the whole school participates in labor of helping the school show its spirit by

cleaning the school, helping with agriculture in farming, building tables that we can use to help

with growing little plants, and painting the bleachers in the outdoor courts in our colors. My

experience for these events were positive, working in a group that I had doubts to build a table

but in the end it turned out that we cooperated greatly. Not only did we build a table but also

built a trust amongst one another and never doubt a ragtag group but to motivate for the better to

reach our goal. This is what amazes me about this school community, almost any random

student, or faculty you can talk to and have a good time.
