Repent & Be Baptized in the Name of Jesus Christ

"Then Peter said unto them, Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus
Christ for the remission of sins, and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost. Repent ye
therefore, and be converted, that your sins may be blotted out, when the times of refreshing shall
come from the presence of the Lord; and He shall send Jesus Christ, which before was preached
unto you: - (Acts 2:38 & 3:19-20)

Repent - G3340; think differently, reconsider, feel compunction (sting of conscience, strong
uneasiness caused by a sense of guilt). From G3326 & G3539; exercise the mind, to
comprehend, heed; consider, think, perceive, understand, observe. From G3563; intellect, mind
(in thought, feeling or will), meaning, understanding. From the base of G1097; to know, allow, be
aware (of), feel, know, (have) knowledge, be resolved, can speak, be sure. From G575; away,
denotes separation, departure, cessation, completion, reversal. From G1537; from, out (of place,
time or cause), out from among. From G1519; of one mind, set at one again.

Baptized - G907; Make fully wet, immerse.

Name - G3686; authority, character, to bind anyone to recognize and publicly acknowledge the
dignity and authority of one, by the command and authority of Christ, through the power of
Christ’s Name pervading and governing their souls, in professing and proclaiming the Name of
Christ, relying or resting on the Name of Christ, rooted in His Name, mindful of Christ, to ask a
thing as prompted by the mind of Christ and in reliance on the bond which unites us to Him,
regardful of the Name of Christ, moved by the Name of Christ, because one calls himself, or is
called by the Name of Christ, by the power of Christ’s Name pervading and prompting souls, with
the mind directed, having regard unto His Name, by embracing and avowing His Name, for
defending, spreading, strengthening the authority of Christ.

Remission - G859; freedom; release from bondage, pardon of sins (letting them go, as if they
had not been commited):-deliverance, forgiveness, liberty. From G863; forsake, lay aside, leave,
let alone, let go, omit, put away, yield up, remit. From G575; denotes separation, departure,
cessation, completion.

Sins - G266; that which is done wrong so that you miss or wander from the path of uprightness
and honour, to do or go wrong, offences, a violation of the divine law in thought or in act, as a
power exercising dominion over a person. From G264; to miss the mark (and so not share in the
prize), to err, your faults, offences, trespasses.

Gift - G1431; Used in the New Testament to denote a spiritual or supernatural gift, something
which becomes the recipients abiding possession. (Zodhiates Lexical Aids)

Converted - G1994; to turn to the worship of the true God, to revert, come again, convert, return,
turn back morally, to reform, turn about, turn again, return to a better mind.

Times - G2540; a fixed or special occasion, set or proper time, at the divinely appointed time, due
season, due time, for a short season, the time just before the return of Christ from Heaven.

Refreshing - G403; a recovery of breath, revival. From G404; relieve, refresh.

Presence - G4383; the visage (the face), countenance, aspect (nature, quality, character),
appearance, the glory of God as it shines in the face of Jesus, majesty of God manifest in the
person of Christ, the refreshing which comes from the bright and smiling countenance of God
from one seeking comfort.
