B. Marriage: Ma. First marriage for both parents. Each parent had a pervious

child before meeting, with one together.

C. Education:

AW. Graduated from high school.

JJ. Graduated from high school, currently enrolled in community

college

AW works full time. JJ will start part time work.

E. Spiritual life: The family is catholic. They do not attend worship regularly. The

children have been baptized catholic.

F. Cultural/racial background: All are Caucasian and unaware of any other racial

background. JJ come from strong family with a farming background.

II. Family as a system

A. Family Structure:
a. JJ: Is the mother of the family and makes sure the needs of the children are

met. She takes the school aged children to and from school and monitors their

homework. JJdoes the majority of the housework and shopping for the

household. Is also spending time each day planning her upcoming wedding.
b. AW: Is the main breadwinner of the family working fulltime alternating shift

at Georgia Pacific. He has a hobby of rebuilding older cars and racing cars.
B. Family Functioning: The child follow rules with reminders from the parents on what

the rules are. Primary rules for the house are set up by AW and JJ along with conflict

management. Communication is done through AW and JJ, often through text

messaging. During times of conflict between the child JJ is the primary disciplinary

with AW stepping in when needed. The children are not allowed to play in the living.

They are also not permitted to play with the parents while they are working on

something.
C. Family strengths: One strength of the family is that they are both working and

supporting the family. Another strength comes from JJ continuing her education to

further her future career. Both parents are also very supportive of their childrens

interests. Both parents also make the bigger decisions together along with allowing

each other to make own decisions.
