2. Cultural and global awareness

Working in the busy food court of Westfield Doncaster Shoppingtown for
over 3 years (at Salsas Fresh Mex), I regularly served and attended to
customers of all different demographics and backgrounds. This helped me
develop the communication skills necessary to effectively and consistently
resolve any problems varying from language or cultural differences,
maximising customer satisfaction. Supplementarily, the stores workplace
was very diverse and hired employees of all forms of cultural and ethnic
backgrounds.
My cultural and global awareness has also been developed through travel.
I have travelled around many parts of Europe (including United Kingdom,
Italy, Croatia, Portugal, Sweden, to name a few) and the United States of
America as part of a 3-month solo travel trip. Meeting hundreds of new
people from different cultures and backgrounds while travelling alone
drastically transformed my perspective of interaction and communication
with different ethnicities and has helped my cultural awareness post-
travel.

3. The ability to work in a team environment

Working in the busy food court of Westfield Doncaster Shoppingtown for
over 3 years (at Salsas Fresh Mex), I developed and practiced the ability
to thrive in a fast-paced retail environment among a team of 4-6 people.
As well as the ability to dynamically work alongside others of different
demographics, the team leader position at Salsas helped me delegate
responsibility to others as well as receive instruction and feedback
positively and enthusiastically. Additionally, my experience producing and
touring as part of a 5-person alternative band for 6 years allowed me to
practice collaborating with others particularly in creative ways and
managing personal and professional differences regularly.
