Who remembers more,
girls or boys?
Hypothesis:
I believe that girls will
ultimately remember more
when put to the test.
Materials Needed:
10 boys
10 girls
10 questions
Paper and pens to write down data
Procedure:
I will call 20 people, 10 of them girls, 10 boys. I will ask them a series of 10 random questions and at
the end of the survey I will ask them to tell me what question number 3 was. If they can tell me the
correct answer, they get a point.
After calling all 20 people I will see how many boys/girls remembered and find my conclusion.
Questions:
1. What's your favorite flavor of ice cream?
2. Have you ever cheated on a test?
3. Who's your best friend?
4. What's your favorite memory?
5. Do you like the color yellow?
6. What's your favorite show?
7. What's your favorite holiday?
8. Who was your favorite teacher?
9. What's your favorite color?
10. What did you have for lunch today?
In the end, the girls
remembered more
than the boys did.
Conclusion:
My original hypothesis was right, the 10 girls I called did
remember that 3rd question more than the boys did.
By doing this project I learned that girls may have a better
memory than boys.
Something that could be changed in my procedure to make my
results more accurate would be to group girls/boys by age
groups. I could see if age had a factor in the result.
