EDUC 350 Field Notes- Chapter 3 Setting and Maintaining High Expectations

In the chart below give one concrete example of when you saw each technique in action. If you did not see it then de-
scribe a situation where you believe it may have been helpful.

No Opt Out Ask 1 student a question, if they say I don't know, the question would be
directed to another student. Once the answered if correct, turn back to
original student who couldnt answer the question.
Right is Right Blake answered a question in class about clay, but his answer was not all the
way correct. The response of right was held out until he answered all the way
correct.
Stretch It This technique could be used when working in Photoshop. If a student answers
a question on how to hot key "save". Then the next question would be a more
difficult one.
Format Matters When grading and handing back projects Ms. Thomas had notes for the
students. They had notes on what they did well and what they needed to
improve on.
Without Apology Don't use a phrase like "I know this is boring"... or " I know this can be
repetitive". Try and add excitement to the class, show what you are doing is
fun.

Below, please explain two of your examples and how they were utilized to maintain high expectations of the
students work, answers, etc.
