Journal Entry 4:

Assign one person to define each of the following, using the OED: primary
source; secondary source; ethnographic study; code (in terms of data and
ethnography) and analyze. Daybook/Journal: Write individual definition in
daybook and include some examples. Be prepared to share with class and provide
examples next week.

Primary sources are raw materials of history. They are original documents created
at the time produced. They are firsthand accounts.
Examples:
archives and manuscript material.
photographs, audio recordings, video recordings, films.
journals, letters and diaries.
speeches.
scrapbooks.
published books, newspapers and magazine clippings published at the time.
government publications.
oral histories.
