The hospital formulary system is a method whereby the medical staff
of a hospital with the help of pharmacy and therapeutic committee selects
and evaluate medical agents and their dosage form which are considered to
be most useful in the patient care.
2. How does a hospital formulary differ from a formulary seen in community
pharmacy settings?
The formulary seen in pharmacy settings offers a big range of
medications while the hospital formulary offers a limited source of
medication.
3. Should inventory control be delegated completely to specific individuals or
should all employees be involved in the process?
Inventory control must be delegated completely to specific individuals
so that they can bring more accurate and precise inventory control
throughout the hospital.
4. What are the positive and negative consequences of outsourcing inventory
control to local wholesalers?

The positive effects of outsourcing inventory control is that you have


no storage worries. There will be enough items youll be selling or using in
short to medium term. The negative consequences of it will be unanticipated
costs, potential for setbacks, the quality of your products may diminish.
5. Compare the advantages and disadvantages of order book, economic model,
and just-in-time inventory management systems.

Their advantages are almost the same like simplicity and sense of
control while their disadvantage is labor-intensive and human error.
