    Research Proposal ‘ToMiss Wellings and Mrs Bond From: Loti Gregory and Elie Gresley Date: October 13" 2016 Subject: Research Proposal Proposed Research Topic: ‘The main purpose of television ident sto inform and to introduce the audience to what channel they are on and what they are ‘watching This will also help introduce new audience members to the channel because they will remember and come back next time they watch TV if they lke that program. Another purpose of television dents isto also show the audience member what other program are coming up next this can be done by the density of information thatthe ident involves such a voice avers, scheduling in or screen tempo, The TV ident gives the audience member a fel ofthe channel and this can keep the audience members watching, ‘The design of an ident is important because this can then impact the target audience that you have in diferent ways so a good way tha ‘twill impact by the design ofthe channel is that it can attract new viewers. A design can give the audience member a feel af the channe and what its about. A disadvantage is that ifthe audience member doesn't ike the desig ofthe channel then they would not return to the channel this is because different dents and designs appeal to different audience members such as the age of target audience forthe channel ha to link tothe design ofthe ident [BBC ethos ist air current alairs that are happening inthe world and documents more serious programs then what comedy central ‘would play on their channe! so the purpose of the identi to portray the ethos ofthe channel. It also shows the values ofthe channel though their corporate identity. They also take into consideration what they air and who their target audience is and what they like. Purposes: ‘The purpose ofthis that we hope to creat a short interesting and informative dent for the TV chanel BBC, the reason that we have chosen todo ths is because this wil ink to the usually type of style that the BBC use. In our ident we want ito sett indifferent locations in and around London withthe BBC logo on them diferent locations with people around London saying "BBC or BBCI” then ending it with Trafalgar square
