etc.

You can use these words for a sequence of events:

They usually help to give the order of more than two events:

First, I change my clothes. Next, I turn on some music, and then I cook dinner.

You can use these words before a noun:

before after during

They usually give the order of two events:

I like to watch TV during dinner.


(= I like to watch TV at the same time as eating dinner.)

Right after dinner, I do the dishes.

You can use these words and expressions to link two actions:

as soon as before / after when while

As soon as I get home at night, I like to relax.


(= immediately / right after getting home, . . . )

I like listening to music while I'm making dinner.


(= I like listening to music at the same time as . . . )

When the kitchen is clean, I can relax.
