Lil Wayne to perform at the Ryan Center

KINGSTON, Rhode Island- The University of Rhode Islands Student Entertainment Committee

will bring rap star Lil Wayne to the Thomas M. Ryan center on April 9 at 8 p.m.

This is a great show for us this semester, said concerts subcommittee President Michael

McWeeney With everything considered we felt that this was the best option, not only for us, but for the

URI community. The show is selling really well, so we are all really thrilled.

Lil Wayne has won Billboard Music Awards, Soul Train Music Awards and most recently his 5th

Grammy in the 2017 Grammy Awards, for Best Rap Performance. His record label Young Money

Entertainment has produced songs for big artists like, Nicki Minaj and Drake.

The Student Entertainment Committees past concerts have been Iggy Azelea, New Politics,

Passion Pit, Chance and in January 2016 Fetty Wap sold out The Ryan Center, and with hopes, Lil

Wayne will do the same.

Student tickets range from $28-35 and public tickets $40-45; they went on sale Feb. 3, tickets are

selling fast! Seat tickets are available online and at the Ryan Center box office or at the Memorial Union

box office.
