Diary part 2

The image to the left shows the export evidence

document, this shows that I documented the exporting of
the logo. This is because the brief specified to document
everything.

Now I am going onto the poster,

I am going to have to google the
dimensions of an A3 poster. The
dimensions are in the image to
the right.
The image to the right is the size
I am going to be making the
canvas.

The image to the right is the dimensions and

other options for the poster document.

The image to the left shows the poster. I

made some crude measurements on the
storyboards.
To quote my story board description Poster The background is going to
be black, the creature on this is going to be 17-17 cm.
To help determine how big the main central image is going to be I can
measure out 17-17 centimetres with the ruler features on PhotoShop.
The image to the left shows that rulers can be
accessed with the keyboard short cut CTRL +
R.

The image to the

right shows the
keyboard short cuts.

Now I am going to create a layer for to delete at the end, this is the
Guide line layer, this is where I am going to add some bright purple lines
in order to map out where everything goes. I decided on purple, as this is
the one colour that I know will definitely stand out.
The image to the left shows some of the guide lines, now the band takes
up (1/5th of the stage and the 1/4th of the bottom is going to be taken up
by information
42 5 = 37, this is the overall canvas size
the top boarder. 37/ 5 = 7.4 (this is the
band) and 37/4 = 9.25 this is the
information section.
42-9.25 = 32.75 the top of the information
section.
32.75 7.4 = 25.35 is the top of the band
section.

These are all of the guide lines that I need, now I

am going to work on the background first and
work forward, this means that the first section is
the creature in the back.
To start I am going to google pixel art and look for
some kind of template image to use.
The image to the right shows the perfect
template, this is because I only need to
use the template of the design the actual
image is irrelevant as it is not going to be
used.

The image to the left shows

the template is far too small for
the design, so I am going to
make a new document
that is 17 centimetres
by 17 centimetres and stretch
it out.
The image to the left
shows how I expanded
the image. By using Word
I expanded the image and
posted it back into the
document, now I am
going to change the
overall colour to dark red
with a thick black border
then add the arms I drew
on the storyboard.

To re-colour the template I am going

to use the select tool and the paint
brush tool to select and area and
then colour it in so that I do not go
over as once and area is selected no
where else can be altered or coloured
in.
Image to left update instead of using the logo
face I am going to use just the white eyes from
the original template as this is going to look a lot
better.

Another update: I am going to leave the creature

face-less as I think this would be rruined if I
added anyting to it.
I am going to create the body a few shades darker to show shadowing and
I am also going to add gaps under the arms to make it look more like the
original design.

The image to the left shows the darker

shade, I did this by reducing the
brightness by 4%, this is a small but
noticeable change.
This is the arm gaps added and
continuing to colour.
Going to add the black boarder back to
the image.

The image to the left shows

the section is finished, I am
going to create the band.
20/4 = 5, each band member
gets 5 cm each.
I am going to use four of these as
templates for the band.

This is the actual size,

this is excessively small
for the document, so I
am going to cut each
out in individual
pictures, expand it,
paste them in individually, and edit them
one by one.
Image to the left shows the first
band member has been pasted in.

The image to the left

shows that I removed the
background for the first
band member. As I am
running out of time I am
going to move on to the
next one.

2/4 characters done

3 out of 4

This is the band section done; now I am going

to add a grey floor with a darker shade at the
back and a lighter one at the front.

The image to the left shows that I am working on the stage top.
The image to the left is the
stage top.

The image below to the right is

the stage bottom.

The stage top and bottom are just two rectangles.

This is the rectangle.
This is the poster so far.
Now I am going to add a similar
smoke layer behind the red
character and then add the black
background.

The illustrations above show the smoke layer I added

and the brush setting I used.
The image to the right is the layer I added for the
background.
