O'Leary, Chief of Police Subject: Police Department Awards Date: May 1, 2017 The Police Department's Awards Board, which is made up of various members of our Department, met during the month of February and March to review some of the work that had been accomplished by our officers during 2016. Based on their review and recommendations, | am pleased to inform you that the following Police Officers have eamed awards for their efforts in providing a high level of public safety services to our Town. 2016 Police Officer of the Year — Patrol Officer Kristin Healy. Patrol Officer Healy received four Commendations of Excellent Police work during 2016. These commendations included identifying and assisting woman who were involved in two separate human trafficking cases, an off-duty assist while dining in a New York City restaurant and for working with other officers to provide emergency medical services, including applying a life-saving tourniquet, to a gunshot victim, 2016 Police Department Public Service Medal - Patrol Officer Timothy Stephenson has been assigned to our Walk and Talk unit for several years. While in this assignment he has worked with many of our younger residents and built a huge level of respect and trust with these youths. He consistently takes an active role in the lives of these young people and has become a true role model. During this past winter, he was recognized for his work with our youth by the Teen Center and was awarded their Brookline Teen Center Impact Award.
