Summary Comments:

Krysta has grown in her outdoor skills some since last semester. She can continue to grow in confidence
and practice the skills that frustrate her the most. She has a desire to learn and wants to understand the
why behind things. It was a joy to see her teach. She has a clear and logical thought process and creates
creative and fun lessons for her peers. Sometimes her inner dialogue of things that frustrate her while
hiking, becomes an external discussion. We had a challenging hike this semester with lots of elevation
gain. There were quite a few times that she was complaining about the cold weather, difficulty of hiking,
are we there yet, etc This was not helpful on long and hard days of hiking. She did not seem to take
much interest in looking at the maps on the difficult first day. Krysta has a strong desire to learn and
persistence to figure things out. The areas of greatest growth are in stove use and safety, knots,
navigation, and fire building. Her Expedition Behavior could also be improved- much of her conversation
was about what she was experiencing, when the entire group was experiencing the same things it did not
lend to an atmosphere of positivity.
