Summative Assessment- Is to evaluate student learning at the end of an instructional unit by

comparing it against some standard or benchmark.

Formative Assessment- Is evaluating the students during the learning process in order to modify
teaching and learning activities to improve student attainment

Overall, is giving directions clearly and not just a broad statement. That way students will not do
something that you were not expecting them to do.
