E- School books and the unity of divine religions

Many of school books, especially the books of Islamic religious education, have dealt
with the matter of belief: the belief in God's messengers and the belief in divine
books. Accordingly, two conflicting errors have emerged. On the one hand, we find an
explicit call for the unity of divine religions and not to differentiate between the
prophets and subsequently necessitates tolerance, brotherhood and solidarity among
peoples, nations, and ethnic groups. On the other hand, books still divide humans
into two groups; believers and disbelievers, and highlight the perspective of Islam
that the Torah and the Gospel are both altered. They call for one true religion as they
present Islam as the last religion, the complete religion that repealed all the religions
that preceded it. This discriminatory trend conflicts with the tolerant guidance
contained in these books.

Likewise, the books of Christian Religious Education contain values corresponding to

meet with the human rights such as the prohibition of violence and calling for
forgiveness, love and tolerance even with the enemy. In contrast, they are not free
from conflicting views such as denouncing others' beliefs or insinuating it, or
preferring the Christ and looking upon him as greater than others. So, we often find
some sort of mobilization against others or some sort of differentiation on ethnic or
religious grounds.
