‘Alberta Health Services has launched an investigation a the Lacombe Hospital and Health
Contre ong-term care unt following serous concerns raised in March about care qualty atthe
site. Three individuals are on leave pending completion of the investigation
Concems were raised by Red Deer College practical nurse students who were completing their
bracicums a the Lacombe Hospal and Heath Care Cente in March, became avareof tose
cconcems Apri
While the investigation is underway, interim leaders wl be in place. This action of providing
Interim leadership ensures the Integr of the Invesigation. We appreciate your ciseretion inthis,
‘matter and would ask that you cooperate withthe interim leadership.
We have set an aggressive timeline forthe investigation and hope to have resolution within four
weeks. Results ofthe investigation wil be shared once they are available.
\We ask for your fll cooperation and participation if you are contacted by te investigative team

In addition tothe investigation, AHS wil conduct assessments of all 75 restients by Home Care
‘registered nurses beginning this week and undertake a site aul wth suppor from Calgary

launch a re-education program to ensure staf al the ste clearly understand and are folowing
Continuing care heath service standards and best practice. More information on this wil be
‘shared once avaliable,

face Tuesday evening. We are also notifying key stakeholders inthe community. We want to
