I am very interested in a position as a secondary science teacher at Vista PEAK Preparatory. As a

Boettcher Teacher Resident, I am currently obtaining my teaching license in secondary science,
while completing graduate courses towards a Master of Arts in Education, with an emphasis in
Culturally Linguistically Diverse Education. My participation in the residency program, in
addition to my past experience with teaching, makes me uniquely qualified for this position.

My experiences as an Associate Instructor, Chemistry Tutor, and Boettcher Teacher Resident

have provided me thorough experience in instructing students, in whole-class, small group, and
individual settings. These positions allowed me to support struggling students through
conferring, differentiation, and timely feedback on assignments. Additionally, my positions have
allowed me to be involved with my students in science outreach in the community.

Through the Boettcher Teacher Residency I have had the opportunity to be in the classroom full
time, observing a mentor teacher, and taking on lesson planning and instruction. Through this
immersive experience I have gained experience in designing, reflecting, and revising lessons. I
have had the opportunity to build relationships with my students and build my understanding of
how students learn best. Through the residency experience I have had the chance to practice all
of the aspects of teaching, which has only solidified my love of teaching.

I believe I would be a great fit for a position at Vista PEAK Preparatory due to aligned beliefs
that diverse student backgrounds are an asset, students have unique strengths, all students are
capable of growth, and a desire to see students reach their full potential through education.
