New Staff Training

I lead a meeting with new staff members to inform

them of best practices when working with students with

severe disabilities. This was a time for me to not only

instruct them on appropriate behavior when handling

situations with students, but also a time for them to ask

questions regarding their new jobs. Confidentiality is key

when working with students with special needs. This is a

topic that was covered at length with the new staff

members. Social media is also a big concern. It is

important that staff keep all students off of their social

media accounts. Data collection, behavioral techniques,

and CPI were also covered in the training.
