Mental Health in Schools

I. Introduction
A. Study objective/purpose: How can schools play a stronger frontline role
in identifying potential issues and helping affected students thrive both
academically and socially?
1. Conditions affecting children and teens, such as depression,
anxiety, bipolar disorder, eating disorders, oppositional defiant
disorder, and addiction.
B. Hypothesis: Specific solutions for schools, including screening, training
for teachers, working with parents and families, and partnerships with
local hospitals and health clinics.
II. Methodology/Study Design
A. Elisha M. Pease Elementary students

B. Population/Sample
1. How many African americans/Caucasians/sped/ELL
C. Treatment allocation
1. How is mental health identified in the school
2. Case control group consist of 4th graders
3. Students chosen from permission from parents, principal, and
district
D. Outcome measures
1. Data analyzed using accommodation and BIP plan
E. Statistical analysis
1. The statistical tests will answer the research question?
