Merengue characteristics

Merengue is a tropical dance, very cheerful and easy to

dance. Usually, this musical style has many fans among the
young people of ballroom dancing. In addition, I think it is
because it has a basic rhythm that is simple, inasmuch as,
when dancing is a step for time, wherefore, I consider it an
ideal dance to learn the movements of Caribbean hips.
His figures, eminently intuitive and improvised, make him
spontaneous and carefree.
Within its characteristics, we find its great touch of sensuality,
like all the tropical dances, with a great content emotional and
erotic.
It is a very contact dance - body to body.

Merengue shapes
There are two types of ways to dance merengue:
The first is the typical Merengue: It appears in the 1840s and
is known as merengue cibaeo because its songs have a
faster rhythm, with simple versions and poetic phrases.
The second types is the salon merengue, mostly this form of
dance is slower and has a modified movement of the hip. The
movements of the steps are from side to side as the valls, and
the couples dance together.
