JUDGES, MADAM/MR SPEAKER, TIME KEEPER, FELLOW MEMBERS OF THE GOVERMENT SIDE, THE CABINET MINISTERS, LAST BUT NOT LEAST MEMBERS OF THE HOUSE.
IM ANIS WAHEDA BINTI
AMINUDIN MINISTER AS THE 2ND GOVERNMENT. I AM OBLIGED TO DEFEND THE AMENDMENT OF THE DEFINITION MADE BY OUR 1ST SPEAKER AND I WOULD LIKE TO COUNTER THE ARGUMENTS THAT PRESENTED BY THE OPPOSITION SIDE. WE GOVERNMENT SIDE DO AGREED WITH TODAYSS MOTION THAT LITERATURE AND ART ARE EQUALLY IMPORTANT AS SCIENCE AND TECHNOLOGY IN DEVELOPMENT OF A COUNTRYS.
WE GOVERNMENT TEAM WHOLE
HEARTEDLY AGREED WITH TODAYS MOTION AND BELIEVED THAT LITERATURE AND ART ARE EQUALLY IMPORTANT AS SCIENCE AND TECHNOLOGY IN DEVELOPMENT OF A COUNTRYS. BEFORE I BEGIN MY SPEECH, LET ME REBUT THE POINTS THAT HAVE BEEN RACE BY THE MISLEEDING OPPOSITION TEAM. THE 1ST SPEAKER OF THE OPPOSITION SAID THAT ___________________
NOW, LET ME GIVE MY FIRST
ARGUMENT. IN ORDER TO MAKE POSSIBLE INOVATION THAT YOU HAVE SAID WE NEED IDEAS IN ANYTHING THAT WE WANT TO DO. LET ME GIVE AN EXAMPLE, DELIBERATELY REMOVE BARRIES OF TRADITION AND HABIT THAT BLOCK CRAETIVITY. AS A HUMAN, WE OFTEN DO THE SAME THINGS THAT LEAD US TO BE LESS CREATIVE. THESE BLOCKS TO CREATIVITY HAVE TO DO WITH HABIT, LEARNED RULES, TRADITIONS AND CULTURAL NORMS. ALTHOUGH AT THE FIRST GLANCE, CREATIVE THINKING TECHNIQUES MAY SOMETIMES LOOK A BIT RIDICULOUS, THERE ARE GOOD PRINCIPLES BEHIND MOST OF THEM. HOWEVER SCEPTICAL YOU MAY BE ABOUT THEIR POTENTIAL, ITS A GOOD IDEA TO APPROACH THEM WITH AN OPEN MIND. YOU MAY BE SURPRISED THE RESULTS. BRAINSTORMING IS ONE OF THE MOST IMPORTANT THING TO DEVELOP OUR COUNTRY NOW THAT MAKE OUR COUNTRY KNOWN IN THE WHOLE WORLD. WHY DID I SAID LIKE THAT? LETS TAKE A LOOK AT OUR BELOVED MALAYSIA CONTEXT. MALAYSIA IS OBBESIVELY STILL DEVELOPING COUNTRY EVENTHOUGH WE HAVE ONE OF THE FINALS INFRASTRUCTURES. SO, WHY DID WE STILL DEVELOPING COUNTRY? IT IS MAINLY BECAUSE MALAYSIA CITIZEN IS STILL NOT CREATIVE ENOUGH. BRAINSTORM MEANS OF CREATIVE THINKING AND UNFORTUNATELY THE MALAYSIAN ARE STILL UNABLE TO THINK CREATIVELY AND CRITICALY. THAT IS WHY, THE MALAYSIA OF EDUCATION INTRODUCE KBAT PROGRAMMES AND MORE RECENTLY HEBAT. THIS PROGRAMMES ARE INTRODUCE TO ENCOURAGE CREATIVE AND CRITICAL THINKING AND BELIEVED IT OR NOT SUCH AS SAINS, FIZIK, BIOLOGY AND THOSE WEIRD TERMS YOU HAVE MENTION ARE BASED ON KBAT.
