While differing in american literature eras, Enlightenment and American romanticism are

both similar in which they hold the connection between either man vs nature or nature vs man.
Even though Enlightenment era was established around 1700s which is before Romanticism in
about 1800s, it held more logics, reasons, and questions whereas Romanticism held more of an
emotions, passions, and entertainments.In terms of the enlightenment era it was more of a
politics, science, and communications than those of imaginations, but in terms of Romanticism in
literature, it was more of a self-expression and individual uniqueness than a precise definition.
Both offer roles of tradition, religion, society, and human issues. In conclusion, each era held
many kinds of the similarities, which includes the same kinds of people and places. Each places
and each society mostly have conflicts in between people, but enlightenment saw society as
collections of humans, arguments on people and using theories to solve them, whereas
romanticism recognized individuals significance, their express of visions, and their
personalities.
